Description

The Maternal-Fetal-Heart Rate (MFHR) simulator was developed for investigating perceptual issues with labor and delivery monitoring. We also developed visual aids to mitigate these difficulties.

I conducted a study comparing quality of MFHR signal identification between undergraduate students and trained clinicians, and a study investigating the effectiveness of visual aids in detecting critical signals in simulated MFHR tracings.

I also conducted an expert review of the usability of the MFHR simulator interface, for researchers who use the system to create their own mock MFHR tracings or images for training purposes.
